Cattlemen's beef roast ropes in great crowd

More than 1,200 area residents and visitors enjoyed a beef dinner they'll not soon forget on Saturday at the Haywood County Cattlemen's Association 31st annual beef roast.

The beef is slow-cooked in a special cooker throughout the night after it has been seasoned with a special blend of spices and double-wrapped in foil.

The dinner includes not only beef, but slaw, fresh tomatoes, onions, a roll, a special barbecue sauce, dessert and a drink.
