Canton — Cecil Edgar Caldwell, 68, of Fieldview Way, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.
Mr. Caldwell was born March 23, 1945 in Haywood County and was the son of the late Hayden Caldwell and the late Ruby Wright Caldwell. He had resided in Florida and Hickory before returning to his home in Haywood County. Mr. Caldwell had been employed as a manager of A&C You Pull It Auto Salvage Co. in Florida. He was a member of Center Pigeon Baptist Church. Cecil loved to garden and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. All children held a special place in his heart and Cecil shall be deeply missed by his family and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Shuler, Peggy Inman, Labrada Fowler and a brother, Bill Singleton.
Left to cherish his memory are his companion and best friend, Evelyn Grant of Canton; a brother, Robert Caldwell and Louise of Waynesville; sisters, Mary Sue Moody and Tommy of Canton, Minnie Lee and Steve of Murphy; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; also, he will be deeply missed by his special dogs that he loved dearly, “Smokey” and “Lacy.”
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Center Pigeon Baptist Church. The Revs. Allan Blanton and Scotty Rollins will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church Thursday evening one hour prior to the funeral service.
