Cedric H. Inman
WAYNESVILLE — Cedric Hoten Inman, 81, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late William J. and Julia Parton Inman. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retiree of Wellco Enterprises, with 42 years of service. Cedric was a member of Rocky Branch Freewill Baptist Church and loved the Lord with all his heart, all his mind, and with all his soul. He was an accomplished fiddler, but could also play any instrument with strings. When he wasn’t attending church, he loved singing and making music for folks in the rest home. Cedric was quick-witted, kind-hearted, and a dedicated servant to his church as well as to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virgie Whitner Inman; three sons, Donnie Inman, of Gastonia, Darrell Inman (Julie), of Asheville, and Matt Inman (Cherri), of Waynesville; two sisters, Edna McCarter, of Waynesville, and Ruth Cole of Valdese; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. Charlie Creasman and Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
