The Haywood County Arts Council presents singer-songwriter Lorraine Conard in concert on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 3pm at the Haywood County Public Library auditorium, 678 S. Haywood Street, Waynesville. The free concert is sponsored by the Village Framer and is part of the Sunday Concert Series co-sponsored by the Arts Council and the Friends of the Haywood County Library.
First-time listeners are often astonished to hear Lorraine Conard's deep, soulful singing voice. She wields it to bring her songwriting vibrantly to life, ranging from toe-tapping, country-fried Americana to folk-tinged blues. All her songs, regardless of their patchwork roots, are anchored by rich, earthy vocals that are equally capable of soothing and electrifying.
Lorraine and friends will perform releases from her newest CD and share songs of a Conard Christmas with the audience. Lorraine also brings to the stage a fine collection of first-class bad jokes that she delights in sharing with fellow connoisseurs. Just remember, you’ve been warned.
