Celebrate Easter at Lake Junaluska with 5K, egg hunts, and worship

Grab your Easter bonnet and head to Lake Junaluska March 30-31 for an exciting weekend of Easter activities. From the new Friends of the Lake 5K, to egg hunts and a sunrise service, there is something for every one of all ages.

The weekend schedule includes

• Saturday, March 30

Friends of the Lake 5k, Family Walk, and Fun Run — 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., registration / check in; 9 a.m., 5K Run begins; 9:10 a.m., 5K family walk begins; and 10 a.m.,  Half mile Fun Run for Kids 10 and under begins.

Egg Hunts, Decorating Contest, and Activities — 10 to 11:30 a.m., egg decorating and activities for all ages in Harrell Center Auditorium; 10:30 a.m., 1 to 3-year- old egg hunt; 10:45 a.m. 4 to 7-year-old egg hunt; 11 a.m., 8-12 -year-old egg hunt;11: 45 a.m., egg decorating awards to be given in Harrell Center Auditorium.

• Sunday, March 31

7 a.m.— Easter Sunrise Service, Amphitheater at the Cross, with preacher the Rev. Rob Huckaby; weather permitting. Rain location is Memorial Chapel.

7:30 to 9:00 a.m.  — Easter Breakfast Buffet at Lambuth Inn. Tickets are available at the front desk of the Lambuth on Sunday morning.

10:30 a.m.  — Long's Chapel UMC Easter service, Stuart Auditorium

11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Easter lunch buffet, Terrace Hotel. Tickets are available online and at the Terrace Hotel Front Desk. Reservations may also be made by calling 454-6662.

Registration for the Friends of the Lake 5K, Family Walk, and Fun Run can be found online, at the Bethea Welcome Center, or may be made by calling 454-6680.

Easter activities are presented by Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center and Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department. A complete list of sponsors is available online.
