Celebrate NC tourism May 9 with 11th annual Tourism Day
The West N.C. Welcome Center’s 11th annual Tourism Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at 6178 I-26, mile marker 6 on Interstate 26 heading east from Tennessee.
Enjoy a fun day of free food and entertainment. Joining the festivities this year will be the 20-time national champions, the Bailey Mountain Cloggers, of Mars Hill University. There will be live music by Roger Howell and Joel Shimberg throughout the day.
Displays of North Carolina attractions will be set up, such as the Blue Ridge Parkway Association and the WNC Farmer’s Market. Representatives from the Department of Transportation Beautification, Madison County Tourism and Madison County Ham Radio Operators will be present.
There will be demonstrations of wool spinning, and Max Woody, known for his 64 years of ladderback chair making, will also be on hand.
Bring a picnic or enjoy the goodies from the different exhibitors and celebrate tourism in North Carolina.
