Charles A. Fisher (Chaz), 48, of 59 Aspen Place, Waynesville, went to be with Jesus at 2:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. He passed on at home after many years of health issues.

Chaz was born June 13, 1964, in Cumberland County, to Delton Arnold and Patricia Brisson Fisher. He was preceded in death by his father and cousin, Karen Fisher.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 1982-86. Chaz was a self-employed hairstylist. He also studied Culinary Technology 1987-89 San Diego, California. He owned Chaz On Montgomery St., Waynesville, New York Deli Style Cafe. He was also owner/partner/manager of Chaz’s Cabaret on Main St., Waynesville.

Chaz was on the Downtown Waynesville promotions committee, a Haywood County Chamber member, and political fundraiser.

He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Pat, and Jimmy Williamson; two brothers; a sister; and several nieces and a nephew. On his father’s side he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Flora and Richard Fisher, Jean and Roy Fisher, Edward Fisher; and cousins, Rebecca Fisher, Joyce Leeds and Malcom Fisher.

He is also survived by his longtime friend and caregiver, John M. Jovino Jr.

A graveside military service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Stedman Church Of God Prophecy Cemetery, in Stedman.

Services were entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman.
