NEWPORT, TENNESSEE — Charles Walter “Birddog” Taylor, 83, of Newport,Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2014.
He was a member of Parrottsville Church of God. He retired from Champion International with 35 years. He was also a veteran from the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Azzie and Hazel Taylor; and son, Trooper Calvin Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Taylor, of Newport, Tennessee; daughter, Patricia Taylor and Dorine (Charlie) Styles, all of Canton; son, Chuck (Peggy) Taylor, of Canton; grandchildren, Charles Taylor III, Kellie Brooks, David Styles and Philip Styles; great-grandchildren, Makala Taylor, Blake Taylor, Alana Brooks, Zane Brooks, Chloe Shelton and Jaxon Shelton; sisters, Earlene (Harold) Donaldson and Betty Jean Brown; several nieces and nephews, church family, close friends, Carol Comstock and Wanda and Ray Kiefer, and The Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Huskey.
Special thanks is given to Mark and Pam Renner.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Renner officiating. Entombment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services.
