CANTON — Charles Nathan Lowe, 76, of the Bethel community, passed away Monday Sept. 1, 2014, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Gary Franklin and Bertha Dickerson Lowe. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Lowe Davis; and eight brothers and sisters. He retired from Oakwood Mobile Homes and was a member of Biltmore Holiness Temple. Charlie will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, having never met a stranger, and his love for his savior, Jesus. Above all, Charlie was a family man who always placed them first and loved them dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Oma Faye Lowe; two daughters, Patricia Clark and husband, the Rev. Jackie Clark, of Candler, and Sheila McCarson and husband, David, of Bethel; a son, Eddie Lowe and wife, Sherry, of Bethel; a sister, Kathleen Coxie and husband, Charles, of Asheville; seven grandchildren, Samantha Godfrey, Susan Freck, Jackie Bradley, Crystal Gaffey, Andy Cowan, Jessica Boone and Shelley Trantham; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the the Revs. Charles Coxie and Jack Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. prior to the service.
