Chef Ricardo to hold fig cooking class

Chef Ricardo Fernandez, former co-­owner/chef de cuisine of Lomo Grill, operates the Mountain Cooking Club, featuring a variety of classes celebrating local ingredients, many from his Wildcat Ridge Farm in Clyde.

For those passionate about cooking, ready to take their skills up a notch and bring fresh inspiration back to their kitchen, come cook with the Mountain Cooking Club.

“All About Figs” cooking class will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Fines Creek Community Kitchen, 192 Fines Creek Road, Clyde.

For the Pantry: Fresh fig & port preserves

Salad: Prosciutto, mozzarella pearls and fresh fig salad

Entrée: Seared sirloin steak with fresh fig salsa

Desserts: Fresh fig & raspberry galette, balsamic glazed roasted figs with mascarpone cream, pistachios and honey

Class fee: $50

($50 class fee, plus $1 membership in the Mountain Cooking Club)
