‘Children Across Haywood’ benefit ride is Oct. 6

The Haywood Community College Criminal Justice Club will hold its third annual benefit poker run ride, “Children Across Haywood,” Saturday, Oct. 6, starting at Haywood Community College, 185 Freelander Dr., in Clyde, at the 1500 Building parking lot.

Registration is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Motorcycles will leave at 1 p.m.

The donation is $10 per person or $15 per couple.

The event is being held to raise money and donations to help the underprivileged children in Haywood County for Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas presents.

The motorcycle poker run will travel from HCC on U.S. Highway 74 through Cherokee on U.S. Highway 441, and end in Maggie Valley at the Rendezvous/Maggie Valley Inn. Food, door prizes and entertainment will be available.
