Christian leadership summit to be held in Haywood

Long’s Chapel will be a satellite location for a premiere, worldwide Christian leadership summit being broadcast Aug. 9 and 10.

The Global Leadership Summit training event is geared to help Christ-following leaders and emerging leaders recalibrate, recommit and renew their passion to lead with all diligence. There are still local slots available. Registration closes Aug. 7.

Presented by the Willow Creek Association, a worldwide interdenominational network of more than 7,000 churches worldwide, the summit will be broadcast in 460 cities worldwide.

The Global Leadership Summit is designed for pastors, business and community leaders, board members, elders, church staff, ministry leaders, volunteer leaders, students, emerging leaders, and those who would like to improve their leadership skills.

Speakers will include Bill Hybels, founder and Senior Pastor, Willow Creek Community Church; Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State; Jim Collins, nationally acclaimed business thinker and author; Sheryl WuDunn, best-selling author, Pulitzer Prize winner and business executive; Geoffrey Canada, president & CEO, Harlem Children's Zone; Craig Groeschel, founder and senior pastor, LifeChurch.tv; John Ortberg, senior pastor, Menlo Park Presbyterian Church and author; Marc Kielburger, co-founder, Free the Children, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Me to We, Toronto, Ontario; Mario Vega, senior pastor, Misión Christiana Elim, El Salvador; Pranitha Timothy, director of Aftercare, International Justice Mission, Chennai, India; William L.
