Mr. Burns is a recent addition to the Asheville area music scene. He performed for more than twenty-five years in Key West, Florida where he set the standard with his intelligent, hard-swinging musicianship. Burns’ major musical influence was the incomparable jazz vocalist and pianist, the late Shirley Horn.
James Simmons received his classical and jazz training at Arizona State University where he was principal bassist in the 10:00 Band. While living in New York, he studied privately with world-renowned soloist Gary Carr, and Frederick Zimmerman, principal bassist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Jeff Rudolph has more than twenty years experience as a drummer. He served as show drummer at Dollywood in nearby Gatlinburg, TN. He has worked with artists as diverse as Merle Haggard, Celinda Pink, The DirtBand, and other Nashville notables. Rudolph’s inspiration comes from his dad, Dave Rudolph, who performed on the Mike Douglas Show, and whose career as a drummer spans over 40 years.
