The Classic Wineseller, 20 Church Street in Waynesville, and Pan Harmonia, Asheville’s acclaimed chamber music collective, announce a classical music concert on March 1 as part of the Wineseller’s weekly Friday Night Live music series.

Come experience a relaxing, intimate evening of all acoustic music - a listening delight! Kate Steinbeck (flute) and Fabio Parrini (piano) will perform music of César Franck and Claude Debussy at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1.

This program features early songs of Claude Debussy who was just 18 years old when he began composing these beautiful lyrical melodies. The songs reflect the French Romantic style of Debussy’s early manhood and were influenced by the music of Massenet and Gounod, and by the poetry of Mallarme, Baudelaire and Verlaine, as well as the passion, melancholy, thrill and despair of love. César Franck’s luxuriant Romantic masterpiece, Sonata in A Major completes the French evening.

Two future performances by Pan Harmonia at the Classic Wineseller will be held on Thursday, April 4, and Thursday, May 2 from 7-8:30 p.m., as part of elegant wine and cheese tastings.

The Classic Wineseller's kitchen specializes in small plate Italian fare and begins serving dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays. There is a $10 per person minimum food/wine or retail purchase with the free concert admission.

Each week the Classic Wineseller's popular Friday Night Live music series showcases local, regional, and on occasion - national talent.
