ASHEVILLE — Clay Barton Lindsey, 89, of Asheville, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Givens Health Care Center.

A native of Sylvatus, Virginia, Clay was a son of the late Guy and Imogene Farmer Lindsey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Force, serving during World War II, and retired from DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater, New Jersey, in 1981, after 40 years of service. Clay and his wife were avid square dancers for many years, enjoyed traveling and playing bridge.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Ruth Kesler Lindsey; one daughter, Donna Lindsey, of Clyde; one son, Brian Lindsey, of Penns Grove, New Jersey; one sister, Virginia Hallman of Duck, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Barton, Michele, Tara, Aaron and Jeremiah; seven great-grandchildren as well as ...
