Cleo S. Dockery
WAYNESVILLE — Cleo Stiles Dockery, 89, of the Ratcliffe Cove Community, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2014, at Autumn Care.
A native of Murphy, she was the daughter of the late R.T. and Janie Carroll Stiles and was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne N. Dockery; a son, Donald Wayne Dockery; five sisters; and three brothers. She was a 1944 graduate of Murphy High School and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Dockery was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was fondly known as “Nanny.” She loved working in her yard, gardening and tending to her flower beds.
Cleo is survived by a son, the Rev. Dan Dockery (Donna), of Carrollton, Georgia; a sister, Margie Ashe (Vernon), of Locust Grove, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lori Redding (Kevin), of Greensboro, Jonathan Dockery, of Carrollton, Georgia, and David Dockery (Maegan), of Rome, Georgia; and two great-grandchildren, Boone and Molly Ruth Redding.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Metcalf and Dan Dockery officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan and David Dockery, Kevin Redding, David Angel and Kevin and Keith Ledford. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior at the funeral home.
