Students at Clyde Elementary School recently had a field day to celebrate positive behavior.

The Waynesville Parks and Recreation Department was filled with parachutes, bouncy balls, pogo sticks and water balloons Wednesday afternoon when all the CES students who have been on their best behavior spent the day playing outside.

"This is a reward for positive behavior for our kids at Clyde Elementary School for doing what they are supposed to be doing," said Clint Conner, principal of Clyde Elementary School. "This field day serves as an incentive for kids to be a good citizen at Clyde Elementary School."

"Both academics and behavior are a priority at our school," Conner added.

Students who were eligible for the field day exemplified good behavior, a good work ethic and have not had excessive tardies or check outs from school.
