Clyde Fire Dept. to hold 9/11 memorial service
The Clyde Fire Department will hold its annual 9/11 memorial service at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11 in front of the fire station located at 8531 Carolina Blvd. in Clyde.
The service will take place at the site of the department's memorial that was erected on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The memorial is constructed around two large beams taken from the rubble of the World Trade Center in New York City.
Special guests will include retired fire fighters from the Fire Department of New York and speakers include Haywood County Commissioner Chairman Mark Swanger and Haywood County Sheriff Greg Christopher. A special guest will also make an appearance.
