Clyde L. Green, Jr.
Waynesville — Waynesville — Clyde Leland “Buddy” Green, Jr. of Waynesville, North Carolina, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Oct. 18, 2013. Clyde was born in Canton on July 30, 1933, to Neva and Clyde Green, Sr. He married his beloved wife, Mary Lou on June 7, 1958.
Clyde graduated from Waynesville High School, attended the University of Tennessee, and received his degree from Western Carolina University. For many years he was the proprietor of the well-known restaurant Clyde’s in Waynesville. Clyde was an avid golfer and a long-time, active member of the Waynesville Country Club. He was a great friend to all those who knew and loved him. His engaging personality and generous spirit touched many lives, and his legacy of cherished memories will endure forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Neva and Clyde Green, Sr. and by his brother Robert C. (Pete) Green. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; his brother, Richard E. Green (Betty); his sister-in-law, Claire Green; and countless other relatives. Clyde’s family would like to thank all their friends and relatives for the prayers, encouragement and support during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Allen’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the funeral home.
