Clyde man pleads guilty to armed robbery

A Clyde man has pled guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and malicious conduct by a prisoner.

Shad Ferguson, 31, gave the court his guilty plea last week in order minimize the amount of time he will spend in prison, following his armed robbery of a local woman, during which he stole a wallet, cash and a rifle.

With the plea, Ferguson will spend between eight and 12 years behind bars, whereas he was originally facing up to about 58 years in prison.
