In Loving Memory

CANTON —  Cody Sean Holland, 20, of Wildfire Lane, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.

Cody was born July 15, 1991, in Haywood County.  He was a former employee of Hardees in Canton and was currently employed at McDonald's, Radio Hill, in Canton. He was a member of Jonas Ridge Baptist Church in Jonas Ridge. Cody had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. The Pigeon River was one of his favorite places to swim and he also enjoyed working out at the gym with his brother, John-Cory.  Music was an important part of his life as well as riding his motorcycle and operating heavy equipment with his father.  His greatest joy was his precious daughter, Riley. Cody will remain in our hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles Wiley Holland; maternal grandparents, W.M. Reed and Alvaretta Fox Barrier; aunts, Brenda Joyce Holland and Marilyn June Barrier; an uncle, Timothy Kay Barrier.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Teresa Barrier Lyall, and her husband, Randolph Lyall, of Marion; his father, Charles Holland, of Canton; paternal grandmother, Geraldine Ray Holland of Vanceboro; his fiancee, Ashley Annette Smith, and their daughter, Riley Keagan Holland, of Canton; a brother, John-Cory Teagan Holland, and Addalynn Snow Davis; sisters, Melanie Dawn Benson, and her husband, Courtland Benson, of Hanaford, California, and Julia Michelle Holland, of Candler; step-sisters, Amber Dobson of Virginia Beach,Virginai, and Lee Ann Hill, of Canton; and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26,  at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Candler.  The Revs. Heath Davis and Jackie Collins will officiate.  Burial will follow in Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
