Haywood County Law Enforcement agencies are hosting their first-ever Cop on Top fundraising event for the Special Olympics. Haywood County Deputy Daniel Blagg will station himself on top of the old Belk building rooftop (in the Ingles plaza) and remain there around the clock for an entire weekend.

He will be sleeping in a tent and staying on the lookout for people who wish to donate to the cause by placing money in a bucket that he will lower from the roof by a rope and pull back up.

The event begins at 4 p.m. Friday, April 26 and lasts until 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28.

On Saturday, April 27, there will be plenty of activities in the old Belk parking lot, with food, raffle ticket items and entertainment.
