Cougars beat Mountaineers

ASHEVILLE — “Once in a blue moon” is often the phrase used by Mountaineer fans to describe the frequency of a Tuscola win over Asheville High.  
Well, the sky over Asheville Memorial Stadium was literally lit up by one on Friday night, and early in the game it looked as if it might have been a “blue moon” kind of night for the Mountaineers as well.  
The Cougars disagreed, however, and pounced on Tuscola’s hope of an upset as they pulled away late to win, 35-21.  
Tuscola drops to 0-3 on the season while Asheville improves its record to 2-1.
