Missing hiker rescued on Parkway
Search crews rescued a Colorado woman Monday evening who was lost in the Black Balsam Knob area on the Blue Ridge Parkway for more than 24 hours.
According to authorities, she called 9-1-1 Sunday evening saying she was lost, but said she found the trail and decided to camp for the night. But a search was launched when she didn't return the next morning.
The 22-year-old was able text friends that she was OK throughout the search effort. A highway patrol helicopter spotted her and a helicopter and the NC HART team flew out to rescue her.
