Crompton shines in lossFormer UT and Tuscola standout throws for 204 yards and three TDs in second half
EDMONTON, Alberta — The CFL playoff picture is a lot clearer.
Arland Bruce and S.J. Green caught a pair of touchdown passes each as the Montreal Alouettes eliminated the Edmonton Eskimos from the CFL postseason with a 47-24 win over the Eskimos Saturday (Oct. 5).
The Alouettes improved to 6-8, while the Eskimos slumped to a dismal 3-11.
Trailing 31-3 at the half, Edmonton gave the hook to starting quarterback Mike Reilly in favor of backup Jonathan Crompton.
And the former Tennessee and Tuscola standout made the most of his opportunity.
In the final two quarters, Crompton completed 13-of-26 passes for 204 yards, including three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. He was picked off three times.
In his rookie season, Crompton has thrown for 351 yards and four touchdowns.
The Eskimos play at Saskatchewan on Saturday.
