Cruso community celebrates 10th Old Crab Day
For the fist time in 10 years, the Old Crab Day Festival had to be moved inside the old stone school building, but the rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the Old Crab vote.
Amid the serving of barbecue, bake sale, kids games and bluegrass music, Don Dammann, of Riverside Campground, was crowned the Old Crab of Cruso for 2014. Dammann and his wife, Jan, go south in the winter to Sarasota, Florida.
The community is grateful for all of the local and summer residents who came out and made the day so great. The 2014 scholarship was successfully funded and several local charities will also benefit from the yearly fundraiser.
