Culpepper to sing Aug. 4

World-renowned lyric soprano Jacqueline Culpepper comes home this weekend to sing at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.  at Junaluska's Stuart Auditorium, for the Junaluska Associate Weekend celebration

Culpepper, a former member of the Tuscola chorus, sang in her church choir in Waynesville as a teenager and went on to earn a music degree from Western Carolina University in 1979 where she heard her first opera.  She holds an advanced degree from Baylor University.  After college she headed for New York City's Broadway but opted for opera, her first love.  The critically acclaimed soprano has performed some 85 roles throughout the world and has taught voice from Saigon Conservatory to Charlotte.
