HAZELWOOD — Curtis Lane Hyatt Sr., 72, of Hazelwood, passed away Feb. 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Troup County, Georgia, to the late William Hamp and Opal Duncan Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the town of Waynesville after 30 years of service as a lineman. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Mr. Hyatt loved life and was able to pass away with the same dignity that he had lived his life.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Polly Hyatt, of Hazelwood; son, Curtis Lane Hyatt Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Effingham, Illinoise; sister, Zelma Jo Barnes, of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Jason Hyatt and his wife, Angela, Morgan Pyle, Sarah Hyatt and her fiancé, Michael Frady; great-grandchildren, Faythe and Savannah Hatherlee, Journi “Froggy” Jaynes, Kelly Frady, Logan and Juliann Pyle, and Scotty and Savannah Woods.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange, Georgia. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation.
