Cyclones storm past Tuscola

ELIZABETHTON, Tennessee — The Tuscola varsity football team battled for four, hotly-contested quarters with host Elizabethton.
But the Cyclones managed touchdown runs in the second and fourth quarters to earn a hard-fought 14-0 non-conference victory Friday night.   
The Mountaineers, which dropped to 0-4 for the second consecutive season, will open the WNC Athletic Confefernce this Friday (Sept. 14) at winless Smoky Mountain. The Mustangs are also 0-4 after losing to Murphy, 35-14, Friday night. Elizabethton improved to 2-2 overall.
The Mountaineers committed three turnovers and had a field-goal attempt blocked.
Tuscola had only 31 yards passing and 112 yards on the ground to finish with only 143 yards in total offense.
However, the Cyclones finished with 245 yards rushing and only 37 yards ...
