1944 - 2012

CANTON — Dallas Ruben Hatherlee Sr., 67, of Lark Lane, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, at MedWest-Haywood.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Ada Trull Hatherlee.  Dallas was self-employed as a sheetrock installer.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan as well as a true Duke Blue Devils fan, but most of all Dallas loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, April Hatherlee, and her husband, David Hetherington, of Canton; two sons, Dallas Ruben Hatherlee Jr., and his wife,  Kim, of Brevard, and Matthew Moore, of Canton; a sister, Lillian H. Norris, and her husband, Glenn, of Waynesville; his former wife, Betty Wilkie; former son-in-law, Jody Gasperson; nine grandchildren; and many special friends.
