Daniel W. Lovelace, 76, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Born in Canton, he attended Wake Forest College and moved to Virginia Beach in 1959. For 34 years, he was a teacher and administrator in the Virginia Beach Public Schools. A member of Community United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, he was dedicated to the music ministry as director of the adult, youth, and handbell choirs from 1969 to 1991 and continued with the handbells until 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Glenda Pressley Lovelace; his son, Timothy Lovelace, and wife, Cristina Arellano, of Saint Paul, Minnesota; his granddaughter, Clara Lovelace; his step-grandson, Eduardo Flores; his brother, Leonard Reid Lovelace, and wife Billie, of Asheville; his sister, Rachel Mitchell, ...
