MATTHEWS – Leslie Daniel "Dan" Ferguson,  64, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.

A native of Waynesville, he was the son of the late William McKinley and Catherine Muse Ferguson.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Ralph Ferguson and Michael Ferguson; and sisters Claudine Green, Ruby Alde, and Bonnie Hanson.

He graduated from Waynesville Township High in 1966 and attended Western Carolina University, where he received a BA in history and was the first of his family to receive a four-year college degree.  He spent most of his years in his beloved Waynesville, working as a real estate agent and later lived in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and, most recently, Matthews.  He loved spending time with his wife, his family and his grandchildren.  He was an avid and ...
