The annual Hugh Rogers Chapter DAR holiday luncheon, held in December, was a success.  As a special fundraiser sponsored by the Haywood County Senior Center, members donated decorations and ornaments for a chapter Christmas tree.

The proceeds from the sale of the tree will be used to support the Tamassee DAR School. Carol Litchfield made the arrangements for the chapter to participate in this cause. Other members of the chapter contributed decorations.

The  chapter announced the addition of six new members, who were installed at the Christmas luncheon — Vivian Bryson, Judith Stancil, Ruby Sprouse, Ann Owen, Frances Jones and Evelyn Wilkinson.

In addition, the 2012 recipients of the DAR Good Citizens Awards were honored —  Caitlin Hines from Tuscola High School and Megan Wright from Pisgah High.
