CANTON — David Allman Hensley, 74, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Charles and Naomi Justice Hensley. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathaleen Hensley. He retired from Crossmark Sales in Charlotte as district supervisor with more than 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Ford Hensley; a daughter, Shanna Hensley Hawkins and her husband, David, of Asheville; a sister, Dorothy Keith and her husband, Clell, of Hendersonville; and three grandchildren; Ashley Browning and Dillon and Derek Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Sams and Neil Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
