Davis Hugh Rhodarmer
WAYNESVILLE — Davis Hugh Rhodarmer, 78, died on Monday, April 10, 2017.
Davis was born in Haywood County on July 22, 1938, to the late Davis Dock and Maude Lee Messer Rhodarmer. He enjoyed building birdhouses and feeders, fishing, beekeeping, and working in his garden. Davis retired from Dayco in 1995 after 22 years of faithful service. He truly loved his girls and his grandchildren, as evidenced by the overflow of their pictures in his wallet. Davis was a member of Camp Branch Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Davis was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Conard, Nancy Meadows, Annie Davis, Rena Pruitt and Mary Browning; and his brother, Seby Rhodarmer.
Davis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pauline Justice Rhodarmer; four daughters, Audrey Lee Wykle and her husband, James, Paula Darlene Curtis, Patricia Ann Stiles and her husband, Joel, and Leisa Sue Mathis and her husband, Cecil; his dog, Toby; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Rev. Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Lanning, Josh Hampton, Ben Henderson, Tim Muse, Adam Conner, and Tai Rhodarmer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Garrett Funerals and Cremations.
