Dems' forum for Sheriff candidates is Feb. 23
The Democratic candidates for sheriff, Larry Bryson and Greg Christopher, will address the Haywood County Democratic Executive Committee at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Haywood County Justice Center, 285 N. Main Street in Waynesville, in courtroom 2B. Registration will begin at 10 a.m.
Ray Rapp will serve as moderator, and each candidate will be allowed to speak for 12 to 15 minutes. Following this, the moderator will ask questions that have been previously submitted.
Written questions may be submitted to Democratic Headquarters before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, by any registered Democrat. Supply your name, precinct, and the name of your precinct chairperson with your question. Each candidate will have the opportunity to answer each question. Questions may be e-mailed to Democratic Headquarters at email@example.com. Questions may also be mailed to Haywood Democrats, P.O. Box 694, Waynesville, NC 28786.
Also, questions may be hand-delivered to Haywood County Democratic Headquarters, 286 Haywood Square in Waynesville, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays before the above deadline.
Registered Democrats may submit questions and attend this meeting. Only the officials of the party and its affiliate groups, as specified by the N.C. Democratic Party Plan of Organization, are eligible to vote for sheriff. They will be notified by mail that they are official delegates.
The election to nominate an individual for sheriff will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2 at the Haywood County Justice Center courtroom 2B. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. In case of inclement weather, the election will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 4, at the Haywood County Justice Center.
