Dems to hold fall rally Sept. 29

The Haywood County Democrats will hold their annual fall rally at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in the cafeteria at Pisgah High School, 1 Black Bear Dr., in Canton.

The theme will be a hoedown. A local country band will play and attendees will be able to dance to the calls of N.C. House of Representative candidate Joe Sam Queen. Jeans and plaid shirts will be in order. Hamburgers, hot dogs, trimmings, and homemade desserts will be served. Various prizes will be available for ladies and gents.

Local, state, and national candidates will be present to speak and answer questions.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12, and may be purchased at Democratic Headquarters, 286 Haywood Square, in Waynesville. The office is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Precinct chairs and executive officers are selling tickets as well.
