Dennis Streets to speak at Senior Resource Center March 21
Haywood County’s Senior Advocacy Network welcomes Dennis Streets, director of the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services, as the guest speaker at this year’s annual meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21, at the Senior Resource Center, located at 81 Elmwood Way in Waynesville.
The Division of Aging and Adult Services works to promote independence and enhance the dignity of North Carolina's older adults, persons with disabilities, and their families through a community-based system of opportunities, services, benefits, and protections; to ready younger generations to enjoy their later years; and to help society and government plan and prepare for the changing demographics.
All governmental agencies feel the impact of the tug and pull for dollars in the current environment in our nation. Haywood County is fortunate to have the opportunity to hear first-hand from a speaker who is greatly respected and genuinely has influence with a clear focus on the issues seniors are facing. This meeting is an opportunity to hear what’s is truly happening in Raleigh.
Seniors in Haywood County need to be aware of changes regarding senior issues at the state level.
The public is invited to hear Streets as he addresses important issues related to seniors in North Carolina. The event is sponsored by Haywood County’s Senior Advocacy Network.
