Diamond Angels win MLL 9-10 Division pennant

Little League girls softball team goes 10-2

Chris Murray was the manager and his assistants were Hubert Nelson and Mike Caldwell.

The Waynesville-based Diamond Angels Little League 9-10 Division softball team finished the regular season with a 10-2 and won the Mountaineer Little League pennant.
The Diamond Angels were sponsored by Junuluska Animal Hospital.
Members of the championship team are Myrissa Johnson, Elle Harris, Laura Nelson, Rebecca Frazier, Kyrstin Mcclure, Victoria Grasty, Alexis Enggren, Jasmyn Harris, Ashley Cuprack, Mackenzie Caldwell, Jillian Creasman, Mea Ball and Aspen Emma Talbert. Chris Murray was the manager and assisted by Hubert Nelson and Mike Caldwell.
“They were a great bunch of girls that played hard every game and worked together as a team,” said Murray.
Frazier and Nelson were voted co-players of the year for the Angels, while Talbert was voted the team’s best offensive player.  The top defensive award went to Harris, Ball was award the most improved honor and Johnson received the team spirit award.
