Canton — Dicie Green Wells, 57, of North Canton Road, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013.
Dicie was born October 29, 1955 in Haywood County to the late William Green and the late Evalee Hannah Green. She resided in Hickory before returning to Haywood County where she had lived most of her life.
Dicie was employed as a teaching assistant in the Haywood County Head Start Program. She enjoyed handmade crafts and fishing. Dicie loved life and was a devoted mother and grandmother and was truly loved by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Green.
Surviving are her sons, James “Dude” Franklin and his wife, Michelle Franklin of Canton and Michael Wells, Jr. of Canton; grandchildren, Justin Cates, Madalin Worley and Makenzie Worley; a sister, Virginia Lewis of Waynesville; brothers, Randy Dale Green of Clyde and Thomas Lee Green.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Cayton will be officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Cove Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
