Dillard Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Nominee
The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Each year, up to 141 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students. This year the selection criteria for nominees includes special challenges or hurdles that students have overcome while still achieving high academic success.
Each school district in the state is invited to nominate one student for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction will submit six nominees (three female and three male) to the Commission on Presidential Scholars.
