Do you hear that?

“And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, come; all things are now ready.” Luke 14:17

Do you hear that? The tinkling of fine crystal stemware and china, as every place setting is hurriedly, yet meticulously, being set in the banquet hall. The angelic choir in the music hall, as its members in rehearsal, put the finishing touches on the endless selection of praise and worship in preparation for the performance of the ages. That heavenly orchestra, as they fine-tune their instruments for that great wedding day celebration. The rustling of angels’ wings as they take the final steps to ensure that everything is fully prepared. The Son stands on the threshold of glory, looking to his Father in anxious anticipation, listening for the blast of the trumpet, and the cry; “Behold the Bridegroom cometh!”

For the Christian, we are living in the most exciting time that man has ever lived, and we are living on the brink of the greatest event that has ever happened since that virgin birth in a stable so many years ago — the Rapture of the church.

There are many in the world today, and sad to say, also in the church who have become so Gospel-hardened to the message of Christ’s return that they are oblivious to the fact that they are fulfilling Bible prophecy with their actions of, “Where is the promise of His coming?” Jesus himself tells us in Matthew 24: 44, “Be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.” That is exactly the condition of man’s heart today; his attention is focused more on the physical things of life, rather than the spiritual things of God.

To the true Christian I say, do not be disheartened, for the proclamation of the angel at the ascension of Christ is even more real and even nearer today — “This same Jesus, which you see taken from you into Heaven, will return in like manner as you have seen Him go.”

Yes, that home-going day is upon us. Soon, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, those who have been faithful to the Lord, those that are watching and waiting, will soon be snatched from this world, and freed from all the chains of sin that have tried to bind us.

Revelation19:7 says “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife (the church) hath made herself ready.” We are going to a wedding, and it just might be today.
