CLYDE — Donald Ray Apperson, 73, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at his residence.
A native of Shattuck, Oklahoma, and resident of Haywood County for the past 24 years, he was a son of the late Morris Leland and Margaret Jessie Sizelove Apperson. Don had also lived in Fort Myers, Florida, and was an auto upholstery instructor for Haywood Community College. Don collected, worked on and upholstered street rod cars, they were his passion.
He is survived by wife, Lois Apperson; one daughter, Debbie R. Apperson and her partner, Linda Veltheim, of Clyde; one son, Darren R. Apperson and his wife, Tina, of Commerce, Georgia; one step-son, Wayne Topolyn of Fort Myers, Florida; three sisters, Linda Ashley of Kansas City, Kansas, his twin, Donna Frederick of Clyde, and Anise Watson of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Jesse Apperson of Crestview, Florida; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
