Dorothy Burkhart ‘Dot’ Peacock
WINSTON-SALEM — Dorothy Burkhart “Dot” Peacock, 93, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Arbor Acres in Winston-Salem. A memorial celebration of Dot’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the fellowship hall at Arbor Acres, 1244 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem.
Dorothy is survived by daughters, Anne Peacock Coltrane (Joe) of Kernersville and Genie Peacock Leonard (Steve) of Washington, D.C.; daughter-in-law, Nancy C. Peacock of Charlotte; grandchildren, Lee Coltrane, Davis Peacock, Beth Lange (Jack), Kathryn Snead (Nate), Jordan Millner, Joe Leonard and Adam Leonard; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Coltrane, and one brother, Jon Burkhart of Winston-Salem.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, H. Eugene (Gene) Peacock, who had been a Methodist minister in the Alabama-West Florida and the Western North Carolina Conferences of the United Methodist Church; and by her son, Harold (Hal) Peacock, who was also a minister in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
