Dr. William F. 'Bill' Appleby

LAKE JUNALUSKA — Dr. William F. "Bill" Appleby passed away peacefully, Nov. 6, 2012, at The Homestead, in Clyde. He was born June 20, 1928, in Mississippi.
A United Methodist minister, Brother Bill faithfully served and loved many churches in North Mississippi. He served as Tupelo District Superintendent and Mississippi Conference council director. Additionally, he served on many conference boards and commissions and was honored to have served as a delegate to the Southeastern Jurisdictional and General Conferences of the United Methodist Church.
Bill was proud to serve the church and its people. Bill was most proud to have mentored and counseled other particularly young clergy and to have developed such deep and meaningful friendships with others.
He leaves a loving wife, Minna H. Appleby, children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:15 p.m. prior to services at the church.
