"Drugs in Our Midst: Prescription Pills and Synthetic Drugs Overview" will be an informational presentation at the Maggie Valley Police Department at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7.
Heidi Warren, DARE officer for the Haywood County Sheriff's Office will be discussing how to talk to teens about drugs and there will be a personal testimony from a former drug addict.
The evening will close with a round table discussion led by Ellen Pitt, MADD representative for Western North Carolina.
The event is free and open to the public.
