Eagles fly away from Pisgah
EAST FLAT ROCK — The East Henderson varsity football team proved it’s deserving of all the preseason hype as the favorite to win the WNC Athletic Conference.
Well, the Eagles at least proved it to Pisgah.
In the WNCAC opener, East Henderson defeated the Black Bears, 51-33, Friday night.
Pisgah, which played its fourth road contest this season, slipped to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference and will host Franklin at Memorial Stadium this upcoming Friday (Sept. 21). East Henderson improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference and will next play North Henderson at home.
The Eagles, which have won five of the eight games played against the Black Bears since 2005, set the tone of the game early by jumping to a 15-0 first-quarter lead and a 36-13 lead by halftime.
