CANTON — Edith Worley Queen Pless, 90, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Stevenson and Isabell Hall Worley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Queen, who died in 1974, and her second husband, Howell Pless; a daughter, Vicky Mason, who died Dec. 5, 2013, and a grandson, Jason Hampton Herman. Edith was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Herman, of Morristown, Tennessee, Debra Harper and husband, Jerry, of Asheville, and Paula Mason and husband, Mike, of Canton; a son, Charles Queen and wife, Marcia, of Canton; a son-in-law, Steve Mason, of Canton; five grandchildren, Anna Queen, Heath Mason, Brooke Buell and husband, Charlie, Reagan Mason and Mary Faulk, and Rhet Mason and wife, Jennifer; three great-grandchildren, Keaten, Hampton, and Ella Mason; and special friends, Teresa Wilson and Charles Greenlee.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Winfred Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
