Edward Jones branch to host OCC donation drive

Oct 14, 2016

The Park Street, Canton branch of Edward Jones will be hosting a donation drive for Operation Christmas Child.  Local residents and businesses are asked to bring in items during regular business hours from Friday, Oct. 28, to Friday, Nov.11.

"We want to share the joy and make sure that every needy child around the world has a gift,” said Wendy Reid, senior branch office administrator. “Join us in participating in donating Shoebox gifts.”

Operation Christmas Child is a project of the international relief organization, Samaritan’s Purse. Its mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the “good news of Jesus Christ.”

Bring toys such as yo-yos, jump ropes or toys that light up with batteries; school supplies, such as pens, notebooks and crayons; non-liquid hygiene items, such as toothbrushes; and craft items. Monetary donations cannot be accepted.
