Eileen Sybil Brimble
In Loving Memory
ASHEVILLE — Eileen Brimble, who loved family, friends, and animals, and who brought happiness to many hearts, passed away peacefully March 3, 2014, at the age of 89.
Eileen lived a long and eventful life. She was born May 16, 1924 in London, England, the youngest of eight children and the tomboy of the family. She served in the Royal Corps of Signals during World War II, and met her husband, Pete, at a dance when the war ended. They were married in December 1946, and had two children, Fran and Phil.
Eileen and her family immigrated to Los Angeles, California, in 1958, where Pete worked in aerospace and Eileen worked for Western and Delta Airlines. Her job allowed her to travel extensively. She and Pete retired to Frazier Park, a mountain community north of Los Angeles, in 1984. Pete passed away in 2008, and in 2011 Eileen moved to Asheville to live close to her daughter.
Eileen adored her family, her two grandchildren, Melanie and Geoffrey, her two cats, DeeDee and Ellie, and all the good friends she made wherever she lived. She will be missed for her laughter, kindness, and the smiles she brought to so many.
The family is requesting that donations in Eileen’s memory be sent to CarePartners Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville NC 28813
